How To Configure Coupa Supplier Sync
Updated by Stefan Person
Overview
This integration automates what would otherwise constitute the significant administrative overhead of manually creating vendor relationships in VISO TRUST which are already represented as supplier relationships in your Coupa instance.
Synchronization can be performed manually, at any time, and is periodically scheduled (daily), so no maintenance is needed in order to keep Coupa suppliers and VISO vendors up-to-date.
Configuring Coupa
- Navigate to
<coupa-instance>/oauth/clients
, where <coupa-instance> is e.g. “visotrust-usa-coupalink.coupacloud.com”. - Click “Create”, select “Client Credentials” as the grant type, and enter the mandatory fields.
- There is an exhaustive list of scopes below the create client form. Select only “core.supplier.read”, and create.
- Take note of the identifier, secret and scope.
Configuring VISO
- While logged in as an org admin, navigate to Settings → Integrations in the sidebar. Under the Coupa heading, click “Set”.
- In order, enter the instance hostname (e.g. “visotrust-usa-coupalink.coupacloud.com”), the “Identifier” from the oauth confirmation screen, the secret, and our scope — “core.supplier.read”. Click save.
- The “Sync” button should now be available. Each sync should proceed from the high watermark of the previous sync. Overlapping syncs are not permitted. After a successful sync, we should see our VISO instance populated with relationships to orgs which correspond to Coupa suppliers:
- Syncs will be scheduled daily, so there is no need for further manual synchronization.
